FAQ

I am a tenth class student (ICSE) and I cannot decide whether I should take maths or biology in science in class eleven. I like to sketch and paint but my parents say that there is no scope in the field of fine arts. I am deciding to take up architecture but i am not sure. Please tell me what is the best option for a creative person like me?

There are a huge number of careers in the creative field so you can select the one which really interests you. If you are good in drawing and have bright ideas you can consider careers in graphic design, if you like colours and fabrics and have a sense of space it could be interior design. Other options can be animation design and multi-media if you like working on a computer,  visual communication if you are good at writing, as well as fashion or textile design if you have a strong artistic sensibility and originality and an eye for detail.  Architecture can also be a good option. If you are taking up any of the design courses you can start with any subjects in class XI & XII, but for architecture you will require maths.

I am a 3rd year student in BCA from IP University.  Please let me know what are the best available options after BCA and the best option on a job point of view.

If you wish to continue to stay in the field of IT and computers the best option for you is to do MCA after BCA. The three-year professional MCA degree programme provides a sound theoretical background as well as good practical exposure to the demands of the information technology industry in India.  The MCA programme is inclined more toward Application Development and thus has more emphasis on latest programming language and tools to develop better and faster applications. There are job opportunities in top level IT companies and consultancy firms, and after MCA  you can be a Software Programmer, Software Developer, Systems Analyst, or Software Consultant.
